Title: From Linear Algebra to Machine Learning

Abstract: Pick up a news article these days and you are bound to find something related to data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, autonomous vehicles, or neural networks. These fields are changing our world at a very rapid pace, but what do they all have in common? Beautiful mathematics! In this talk, we will cover the fundamentals of linear and logistic regression all while providing real-world examples illustrating the usefulness of these techniques. The content is meant to be informational and accessible to students who have taken some calculus and linear algebra.
