Date & Time: Thursday, October 3rd | 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Location: WSC Ballroom and Garden Court
BYU Career Fair
The Career Fair will be held in the Ballroom of the Wilkinson Student Center. The focus of this fair is to connect employers with students in a variety of disciplines.
What to Expect at the Fair:
- We extend an invitation to a wide range of employers to participate in the fair but we do not control which companies ultimately choose to attend the fair.
- Employers prefer students to be professionally dressed and prepared to speak with them about their respective organizations. If you do not feel as prepared, the student lounge is a great place to receive last-minute tips.
- Generally, 11 am-1 pm is the busiest and most crowded time of the fair. We recommend attending the fair outside of these times if you desire a quieter environment. Alternatively, Employer Information Sessions are another avenue for engaging with employers in a calmer setting.
How to Prepare for the Fair:
- Attend the Prep Event the week prior to the fair. The event will be posted on Handshake.
- Update your profile on Handshake and RSVP to the fair to message employers
- Research the companies you are most interested in. Employer List How to Research
- Prepare an 'elevator pitch'. This 30-second pitch is to introduce yourself to recruiters, focusing on your background, skills, interests, and goals. Elevator Pitch
- Review your resume at the career studio (Make an Appointment). Be sure to have your online resumes up to date (Handshake, LinkedIn). It is also a good idea to have copies available, as some recruiters still like hard copies. Creating a Resume Resume Tips
