Title: Towards a simple proof of the functional equation for SL(n,Z) Eisenstein series.

Abstract: Langlands Eisenstein series are an important tool in the theory of automorphic forms and analytic number theory. A central fact, first proved by Langlands, is that they satisfy certain functional equations. Proving this, however, is notoriously difficult. I will discuss a strategy to do this in a reasonably elementary way. Time permitting, I will also discuss how the strategy helps answer questions about the uniqueness of such functional equations.
