Grader & TA Assignments

Graduate TAs and undergraduate graders are assigned through the department. If you have questions about a graduate TA’s responsibilities, contact the Graduate Committee.

Fall hiring deadline: Student grader and TA hiring has an August 1 deadline for fall.

Student Job Responsibilities

  • Undergraduate graders: Grade homework only, never exams. Do not answer student emails, have face-to-face contact with students, or share personal contact information with students.
  • Graduate graders and TAs: Follow the assigned duties for your course, including office hours when assigned. Grade exams only if specifically assigned that responsibility.

Instructors handle grading appeals, feedback, and supervision. See Teaching: Grading & Student Staff for instructor responsibilities.
