ONE-YEAR CONTINUING STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

The mathematics department will offer a number of one-year full or half tuition scholarships for continuing BYU students. These scholarships will be awarded to students who are math majors at BYU with excellent academic records. Academic excellence will be the main criterion for these scholarships. Some scholarships will be set aside for applicants with financial need or for applicants from underrepresented groups.

Recipients of these scholarships will be required to:

* Be a full-time BYU student (at least 12 credits of enrollment each semester of the scholarship).

* Be a mathematics major.

* Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 during fall semester to continue the scholarship in winter.

Recipients of these scholarships will also receive the opportunity to work within the mathematics department for up to ten hours per week, with the standard pay scale for department student employees. This employment is optional; students may choose not to take it. Possible jobs include homework grading, undergraduate TA, math lab TA, and undergraduate research.
